At 15:30 Beirut time, the Euro was quoted at $/€ 1.1306, the equivalent of €/LBP 1,704.38, depreciating against the US Dollar by 0.29% from Friday’s close.
The Fed’s policy meeting on the 16th-17th of September, regarding hiking or maintaining interest rates might harm the bullish Dollar.
Locally, the Lebanese Pound steadied versus the Dollar at LP/$ 1,507-1,511 with a mid-price of LP/$ 1,509.
Compared to the pool of currencies of Lebanon’s major trading partners, the purchasing power of the Lebanese pound declined as reflected by the NEER, published by BLOMINVEST, which dropped by 0.08% to 166.94 today.
