Slight Progress on the Beirut Stock Exchange Today

The Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE) progressed today despite the frail trading activity mainly on the back of an improving performance in the real estate sector. Accordingly, the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) increased by 0.11% on Wednesday to 1,143.38 points following the trade of 24,363 shares worth $268,863 compared to 43,824 shares worth $782,044. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares class “A” and “B” increased by 0.50% and 0.51% to close at $10.03 and $9.87, respectively. In the banking sector, Bank Audi preferred shares class “F” gained 0.30% to end the trading session at $101.00. Meanwhile, Bank Byblos listed shares and BLOM Bank listed shares and GDRs were all traded with no change in price. In the industrial sector, Holcim shares up ticked by 0.73% to $15.11.
