BSI Gained 1.87% on Thursday Following Encouraging Political Discussions

There was positive political discussions in today’s parliamentary session as 12 bills were passed including an agreement between Lebanon and the Arab Fund for Economic & Social Developments and another with the European Investment Bank. Discussions will continue tomorrow with key points yet to be finalized among them being tax evasion and money laundering. Accordingly, the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) gained 1.87% on Thursday to 1,137.09 points following the trade of 182,789 shares worth $1,699,755. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares class “A” and “B” improved by 12.60% and 14.95% to end the session at the same quote of $9.92, respectively. In the banking sector, the listed shares of BLOM and Audi declined by 0.53% and 0.85% to settle at respective quotes of $9.40 and $5.90. Meanwhile, Byblos listed shares and Bank of Beirut preferred shares class “H” traded with no change in price.  In the industrial sector, Holcim shares changed hands with no alteration in their price.
