The Lebanese Bourse Closed in the Red Despite Improving Volume

The Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE) saw, on Tuesday, a slight recovery from yesterday’s volume, the weakest in 65 weeks low, in which 42,133 shares were traded worth $786,848. However, the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) lost 0.09% today to 1,139.86 points , registering a 2.60% year-to-date (y-t-d) downtick, and a 2.98% decline (y-o-y). In the real estate sector, Solidere class “A” shares lessened by 0.88% to $10.10. In the banking sector, no changes in the price of shares was witnessed, as Byblos listed shares, BLOM listed and GDR shares, BLC preferred shares class “B” and Bank of Beirut priority 2014 traded at their previous quotes.
