The Rafic Hariri International Airport activity grew during Jan-June 2017, where the total number of passengers increased by a yearly 3.51% to 3.50M.
In details, the number of arrivals to Lebanon went up by 7.38% Y-o-Y to 1.81M by June 2017. Also, this period witnessed a 0.18% yearly increase in departures, which reached 1.68M by June 2017. The rise in arrivals can be attributed to the occurrence of Eid el-fitr, end of June 2017.
As for the number of transit passengers, it plunged from 11,180 passengers by June 2016 to 2,076 passengers by June 2017.
