According to the Association of Lebanese Car Importers, the total number of newly registered commercial and passenger cars decreased by 0.22% year- on- year (y-o-y) to 27,293 cars by August 2017. In details, the number of registered commercial cars increased by 7.70% y-o-y to 1,930 while the number of registered passenger vehicles decreased by 0.78% to reach 25,363 cars during the first eight months of the year.
In terms of car brands, Kia maintained its top rank, with the largest share of 19.43% of newly registered cars, followed by Hyundai, Toyota and Nissan with respective shares of 12.22%, 12.09%, and 9.19%.
As for sales per importer, Natco acquired the largest stake of newly registered cars with 19.43% of the total, followed by RYMCO with 13.92%, BUMC and Century Motors with 12.33% and 12.28%, respectively.
