BDL’s Total Assets up by 7.57% to $127.21B by May 2018

According to the central bank’s (BDL) balance sheet, total assets rose by 7.57% year-to-date (YTD) to stand at $127.21B in May 2018. In details, Foreign assets (constituting 35.59% of BDL’s total assets) rose by 7.84% YTD to reach $45.28B, while the Securities’ portfolio (21.23% of total assets) decreased by 7.73% since December 2017 to $27.01B. Loans to the local financial sector (17.51% of total assets) surged from $12.73B to $22.28B, while Gold assets (9.45% of total BDL assets) rose by 0.55% to settle at $12.03B over the same period.

On the liabilities side, financial sector deposits which constituted 82.51% of BDL’s total liabilities grew by 7.67% YTD to $104.97B, while Public sector deposits (4.86% of total liabilities) rose by 4.72% ytd to reach $6.18B in May 2018.
