According to the Ministry of Tourism, the total number of tourist arrivals to Lebanon increased by an annual 3.26% to 853,087 tourists by June 2018.
The number of European tourists (constituting the largest share 35.2% of the total number of tourists) rose by 12% by June 2018 to reach 300,037 compared to 267,906 in 2017 . The number of Arab tourists (forming 28.7% of the total tourist number) declined by 7.7% by June 2018 to reach 244,800 compared to 265,287 in 2017. In details, the number of Saudi Arabian and Iraqi tourists dropped by 18.8% and 16.7% to 23,447 and 97,559 respectively by June 2018.
American tourists came in third place with a share of 18.22% in the total number of tourist arrivals. In fact, the number of American tourists increased by a yearly 8.04% and amounted to 155,446 by June 2018.
It is worth mentioning that in the month of June alone , tourists arrival from Arab countries rose by a yearly 24% to 46,971 for the occasion of Eid al Fitr.
