Banking Sector Boosted the Lebanese Bourse on Wednesday

The Beirut Stock Exchange ended Wednesday’s session in the green, on  the back of a good performance in the banking sector. This translated into the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) posting a 0.19% daily uptick to end at 1,193.98 points, illustrating a 2.03% y-t-d increase. In the banking sector, which constituted 80% of total traded value, Bank Audi listed and GDR shares gained 0.99% and 0.15% to settle at $6.15 and $6.61, respectively. In addition, Byblos Bank listed shares increased by 0.57% to close the session at $1.76. Meanwhile BLOM Bank preferred 2011 shares and Bank Audi preferred classes “F” and “G” shares traded with no change in price. In the real-estate sector, Solidere class A” shares augmented by 0.09% to $11.25 while Solidere class “B” shares lost 0.80% to $11.18.
