Poor Performance Depicted in the Lebanese Bourse Today

The Beirut Stock Exchange witnessed a poor performance on Thursday as the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) declined by 0.18% to 1,191.45 points, narrowing its year-to-date gains to 1.81%. In the banking sector, which constitutes 96% of total traded value, Byblos Bank listed shares lost 0.62% to $1.60 while its preferred shares 2008 and 2009 gained respective amounts of 0.30% and 0.10% to end the session at the same price of $100.70. Furthermore, Bank Audi common shares declined by 1.13% to settle at $6.12 while BLOM Bank common shares increased by 0.21% to $9.66. Meanwhile, BLOM Bank GDR shares, BLC preferred shares class “B” and Bank of Beirut preferred shares class “I” traded with no change in price. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares class “A” downturned by 0.09% to $11.55 while class “B” shares increased by 0.69% to $11.60, respectively.
