Number of Real Estate Transactions Up by 16% y-o-y by Oct. 2017

According to data from the Lebanese Cadastre Registry, the number of real estate (R.E) transactions registered an uptick of 16% year-on-year (y-o-y) to stand at 78,229 transactions by Oct. 2017.

As such, the total value of these real estate transactions climbed by a yearly 23.63% to stand at $8.38B, when compared to the same period last year. Therefore, the average value per transaction rose by an annual 6.58% to reach $107,062 by Oct. 2017.

The foreigners’ share in the total number of real estate transactions stabilized at 1.58% by October 2017 compared to 1.56% in the same period last year.

However, the value of foreign RE transactions executed by foreigners contracted by a yearly 7.09% to $382.83M by Oct. 2017.

As for the regional breakdown, Beirut grasped the largest share of total real estate transactions’ value, with a share of 27.92% by Oct. 2017, followed by Metn and Baabda with shares of 17.97% and 11.54%, respectively.

However, in terms of number of real estate transactions, the regional breakdown by Oct. 2017 ranked the Metn region first with 10.57%, followed by Baabda with a stake of 7.89% while the North grasped a share of 15.45%.
