Number of Real Estate Transactions Rose by 14.72% y-o-y by November 2017

According to data from the Lebanese Cadastre Registry, the number of real estate (R.E) transactions registered an annual uptick of 14.72%, to reach 86,524 transactions in the first 11 months of 2017.

As such, the total value of the real estate transactions over the period grew by a yearly 22.51% to reach $9.22B by November 2017. Therefore, the average value per transaction climbed by 6.79% year-on-year (y-o-y) to stand at $106,596 over the same period.

As for the foreigners’ share in the total number of real estate transactions, it rose from 1.53% by November 2016 to 1.61% by November 2017.

Moreover, the value of foreign RE transactions executed by foreigners increased by 19.83% y-o-y to $459.37M by Nov. 2017.

In regards to the regional breakdown, Beirut grasped the largest share of total real estate transactions’ value, with a stake of 28.09% by Nov. 2017, followed by Metn and Baabda regions, which grasped shares of 17.92% and 11.6%, respectively.

However, in terms of number of real estate transactions, the regional breakdown by November 2017 ranked the Metn region first with 10.56%, followed by Baabda with a stake of 7.79%, while the North grasped a share of 15.67%.
