THE BSE Started the Week in the Red

The BLOM Stock Index (BSI) dipped on Monday by 0.16% to 1,172.99 points, following the trade of 142,704 shares worth $1,672,497. The BSI registered a gain of 1.99% since year start and a 2.16% increase compared to its value a year ago. The banking sector grasped a 96.72% majority of total traded value; with Bank Audi GDR shares improving by 1.48% to close at $6.16. In contrast, BLOM GDR shares and Byblos listed shares respectively decreased by 0.53% and 2.40% to settle at $9.40 and $1.63. Meanwhile, BLOM listed shares, Byblos preferred 2009 shares, and Bank of Beirut preferred shares class “H” were traded without any change in price. In the real estate sector, Solidere “A” shares fell by 0.50% to $11.99. In contrast, class “B” shares added 1.00% to $12.09.
