Total Number of Real Estate Transactions Registered a 2.02% Rise by November 2016

According to the data published by the Lebanese Cadastre Registry, during the first eleven months of this year, the real estate activity witnessed a slight yearly increase. The total number of real estate transactions grew by 2.02% from last year’s level to reach 75,421 transactions. Moreover, the total value of these transactions rose by a yearly 0.48% to $7.53B by November this year; however, the average value per transaction reached $99,872 over the same period. Also, the data revealed that foreigners’ share of the total number of real estate transactions went down from 1.96% by November 2015 to 1.52% by November 2016.

In details, Beirut grasped the largest share of total real estate transactions’ value, with a share of 25.61% by November 2016, followed by Metn and Baabda with respective shares of 16.45% and 12.39%. In terms of number of transactions, North of Lebanon ranked first with 12,008 transactions (or 15.92% of the total) and was tracked by Metn (10.62% of the total) and Baabda (8.41% of the total).

Total number of land transactions rose 1.31% y-o-y to reach 37,547 at a value of $2.36B, while total number of built units’ transactions increased 3.24% y-o-y to 37,874 worth $5.16B. Accordingly, the average land transaction value registered a 0.56% uprise to $62,978 by November 2016, and the average value per built unit transaction fell 2.79% to $136,384.
