Dollar was Supported by Healthy GDP Figures in the U.S.

At 11:30 Beirut time, the Euro was quoted at $/€ 1.1184, the equivalent of €/LBP 1,685.99, depreciating against the US Dollar by 0.09% from Friday’s close.

The Euro showed weak performance versus the Dollar on Monday, as the adjusted GDP figures in the U.S. were promising. In details, GDP f the half of 2015 stood at 3.9%, revealing a 0.6% and 2.3% growth the first and second quarters of the year.

Locally, the Lebanese Pound steadied versus the Dollar at LP/$ 1,508-1,512 with a mid-price of LP/$ 1,510.

Compared to the pool of currencies of Lebanon’s major trading partners, the purchasing power of the Lebanese pound decreased as reflected by the NEER, published by BLOMINVEST, which down ticked by 0.10% to 167.37 today.
