Real Estate Sector Holds Back the Lebanese Bourse on Thursday

The Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE) downturned today despite better trading activity, on the back of a poor performance in the real estate sector. Accordingly, the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) declined by 0.29% on Thursday to 1,140.07 points, following the trade of 626,822 shares worth $4,271,328 compared to 24,363 shares worth $268,863. In the banking sector, Byblos listed shares lost 0.62% to end up at $1.59 while BLOM listed and GDR shares as well as Bank of Beirut preferred shares class “H” traded with no change in price. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares class “A” and “B” declined by 1.40% and 1.22% to close at $9.89 and $9.75, respectively.
