Banking Sector Stocks Managed to Support the Beirut Stock Exchange on Wednesday

As 4 out of the 6 traded financial stocks ended in the green today, the Lebanese Bourse saw an improved performance, regaining all of yesterday’s losses. The BLOM Stock Index (BSI) increased by 0.28% on Wednesday to 1,125.10 points following the trade of 201,252 shares worth $1,668,206. In the banking sector, the listed shares of Byblos and Audi gained 1.25% and 0.51% to settle at respective quotes of $1.62 and $5.93. In addition, Byblos preferred shares 2008 and BLOM preferred shares 2011 went up by 0.20% and 0.10% to close the session at $100.50 and $10.16, respectively. In contrast, GDRs of BLOM lost 0.10% to $9.57 while BLOM listed shares traded with no change in price. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares class “A” declined by 0.87% to $9.12 while its class “B” shares added 2.52% to $8.95.
