Relative Stability of the Euro/Dollar Exchange Rate on Monday

At 15:45 Beirut time, the Euro was quoted at €/$ 1.0864, the equivalent of €/LBP 1,637.90, slightly appreciating against the US Dollar by 0.04%.

The Euro remained relatively stable versus the Dollar, despite latest German CPI data illustrating price stability by December in contrast to the 0.2% expected increase.

Locally, the Lebanese Pound depreciated versus the Dollar, increasing from a quote of $/LP 1,510-1,514 with a mid-price of $/LP 1,512 to $/LP 1,510.5-1,514.5 with a mid-price of $/LP 1,512.5.

Compared to the pool of currencies of Lebanon’s major trading partners, the purchasing power of the Lebanese Pound increased as reflected by the NEER, published by BLOMINVEST, which ticked up by 0.06% to 168.49 points today.
