Number of Registered Cars in Q1 of 2017 rose slightly by 2.04% y-o-y

According to the Association of Lebanese Car Importers (AIA), the total number of newly registered commercial and passenger cars slightly improved during the first quarter of 2017 by 2.04% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 8,764 cars. In details, the number of newly registered commercial vehicles rose by an annual 7.85% to 646, and the number of newly registered passenger cars increased by an incremental 1.6% y-o-y to 8,118 cars.

In terms of sales per importer, Natco (Kia) acquired the lion’s share of the market with a 20.82% of the total, followed by BUMC (Toyota, Lexus) grasping 12.46%, and Century Motor Company (Hyundai) with a stake of 11.59%.
