The Rafic Hariri International Airport activity rose in the first four months of 2017, where the total number of passengers increased by a yearly 2.54% to 2.2M.
The number of arrivals to Lebanon went up by 7.43% y-o-y from 1.03M by April 2016 to 1.11M in the same period of 2017. However, this period witnessed a 1.02% yearly decrease in departures, which reached 1.13M by April 2017, versus 1.14M by April 2016. As for the number of transit passengers, they fell from 10,742 passengers by April 2016 to 1,152 passengers by April 2017.
On a monthly basis, the Easter vacation was the main driver behind the 30.12% and 28.43% respective increases between April 2016 and April 2017 in the number of arrivals to Lebanon and departures. The number of arrivals rose to 352,148 passengers in April 2017 and that of departures to 368,324 passengers.
