The statement of comprehensive income of the “Societe Libanaise des Ciments Blancs” revealed an increase in the company’s profit from $2.77M in 2015 to $4.39M in 2016. Revenue dropped from $12.77M in 2015 to $12.21M in 2016 but this decline in revenue was offset by a larger drop in the cost of sales from $7.84M in 2015 to $6.41M in 2016.
According to 2016’s balance sheet, total assets dropped by an annual 1.84% to $24.54M due to declines in non-current assets such as Property plant and equipment and in current assets such as inventories, trade and other receivables and cash and cash equivalents. Meanwhile, total equity rose by 9.41% year-on-year to $18.96M as retained earnings almost doubled from $2.97M in 2015 to $4.36M in 2016.
