The Rafic Hariri International Airport activity grew substantially during the first 8 months of 2017, where the total number of passengers increased by a yearly 6.8% to 5.54M.
In details, the number of arrivals to Lebanon went up by 9.18% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 2.83M by August 2017. Also, this period witnessed a 4.71% yearly increase in departures, which reached 2.71M. The rise in both arrivals and departures can be directly attributed to the summer season as well as the Hajj season, which began on August 30th
As for the number of transit passengers, it plunged from 11,950 passengers by August 2016 to 3,865 passengers by August 2017.
