The Rafic Hariri International Airport witnessed an important activity the first 8 months of 2018, where the total number of passengers increased by a yearly 10.06% to 6.09M.
In details, the number of arrivals to Lebanon went up by 8.09% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 3.06M by August 2018. Also, this period witnessed a 8.73% yearly increase in departures, which reached 2.94M. The rise in both arrivals and departures can be directly attributed to the summer season as well as the Hajj season, which began on August 19th. As for the number of transit passengers, it plunged by 20.65% to reach 3,067 passengers by August 2018.
During the month of August alone, the total number of airport passengers jumped by 13% to 1.16M from 1.02M in July 2018.
