Number of Registered Cars Down by 7.28% by September 2018

According to the Association of Lebanese Car Importers (AIA), the number of newly registered commercial and passenger cars decreased by 7.28% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 27,801 cars by September 2018. In details, the breakdown of the AIA’s statistics revealed that the number of newly registered passenger cars dropped by 6.63% year-on-year (y-o-y) to settle at 26,081 cars. Moreover, the number of newly registered commercial vehicles contracted by a yearly 16.14% to 1720 cars.

In terms of brands, Kia held the largest share of the total newly registered passengers cars (15.78%), followed by a 13.11% stake for Hyundai. Toyota came next in the ranking, as it grasped 12.98% of newly registered cars and was followed by Nissan that took 11.84% of the total.

In terms of sales per importer, RYMCO acquired the biggest bulk with a 15.16% of the total, followed by NATCO SAL (14.86% ) , BUMC (13.24%), Century Motor Co(12.57%).
