Beirut-Rafik Hariri International Airport received an additional 78,221 travelers in the first 5 months of 2019 when compared to the same period last year, to reach 3.1 million passengers.
The number of arriving travelers increased by 1.69% year-on-year (YoY) to reach 1.55 million by May 2019. Similarly, the number of departing passengers rose by 1.13% YoY to reach 1.55 million over the same period. As for transits, their growth was significant, climbing from 1,740 to 41,392 passengers by May 2019, mainly due to a change in statistical calculation methods by the airport.
For the month of May, the number of airport passengers declined by 30,802 compared to the same period last year, to touch 567,199 in May 2019.
