Beirut Stock Exchange Began the Week on a Positive Note With 1.00% Increase

The Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE) began the week on a positive note, where the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) increased by 1.00% to 1,172.22 points. The banking sector dominated trade on the BSE, taking a share of 91.24% of total traded value on the back of 722,264 cross-traded Bank Audi listed shares, which gained 2.98% to $6.23 per share. BLOM Bank GDR shares also gained 1.14% to $9.75. In contrast, Bank Audi GDR shares experienced a slight 0.16% decrease to $6.20 while Byblos Bank listed shares were traded with no change in price. In the real estate sector, Solidere “A” and “B” shares recovered from last week’s poor performance by gaining 2.08% and 2.09% to respectively close at $11.30 and $11.22, respectively. In the retail sector, RYMCO shares also traded today, gaining 1.25% to close the day at $3.23.
