Lower Prices Led to 0.40% Decline of BLOM Stock Index on Friday

On the Beirut Stock Exchange, 131,656 shares worth $490,392 were traded on Friday as the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) erased some of its weekly gains during the week in a 0.40% decline to 1,170.93 points. The banking sector captured 65.64% of total traded value, as Byblos Bank and Bank Audi listed shares dropped 0.61% and 1.45% to $1.63 and $6.11 per share, respectively. In contrast, BLC preferred shares “C” gained 1.00% to close the trading session at $101.00. Meanwhile, Bank of Beirut preferred shares “I” were traded with no change in price. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares class “A” lost 0.82% to $10.94, while class “B” shares inched up 0.09% to $10.99.
