Negative Performance Characterized the Lebanese Bourse Today

The Lebanese Bourse witnessed a poor performance on the back of five out of thirteen traded stocks ending in the red on Wednesday. Accordingly, the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) went down by 0.31% to 1,188.27 points, tightening its year-to-date gains to 1.54%. In the banking sector, GDR shares of BLOM Bank and Bank Audi lost 0.50% and 0.32% to close the session at $9.95 and $6.25, respectively. In contrast, Bank Audi preferred shares class “H” gained 0.10% to $100.60. Meanwhile, Bank of Beirut listed and preferred shares class “E”, Byblos Bank common and preferred shares 2008 and BLOM Bank listed and preferred shares 2011 traded with no change in price. Notably, 376,175 Byblos listed shares and 50,705 BLOM Bank preferred shares 2011 were cross traded today. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares class “A” and “B” dropped by 0.34% and 0.78% to end at respective quotes of $11.56 and $11.51. In the industrial sector, HOLCIM shares down-ticked by 5% to $15.20.
