At 15:30 Beirut time, the Euro was quoted at $/€ 1.1423, the equivalent of €/LBP 1,722.02, dropping by 0.79% from Tuesday’s close.
Despite the Chinese Stock market maintaining its downward trend, the positive data related to the United States’ Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) might have supported the Dollar versus the Euro. In details, the index increased from 91 in July to settle at 101.5 in August. .
Locally, the Lebanese Pound appreciated versus the Dollar from LP/$ 1,506-1,5010 with a mid-price of LP/$ 1,508 to LP/$ 1,505-1,509 with a mid-price of LP/$ 1,507.
Compared to the pool of currencies of Lebanon’s major trading partners, the purchasing power of the Lebanese pound improved as reflected by the NEER, published by BLOMINVEST, which increased by 0.24% to 166.18 today.
