Rafic Hariri International Airport (RHIA) activity improved during the first 8 months of 2015, where the total number of passengers increased by 9.53% year-on-year (y-o-y) to 4.80M. The number of arrivals grew by 9.16% to 2.38M, while departures rose by a yearly 9.69% to 2.40M by August. Furthermore, the number transit travelers surged from 9,851 to 15,530, over the same period.
Taking the month of August alone, the total number of airport passengers inched up by 9.68% yearly to reach 893,708. Arrivals increased by 6.58% y-o-y to 378,693, and departures jumped 11.44% y-o-y reaching 510,998. Transit travelers edged up from 948 last year to 4,017 in August 2015.
