Dollar Index Slides on Unchanged Rates and Yen Intervention
The dollar slid this week as the Fed held rates steady and Japan stepped in to support the yen. As the dollar weakens, other currencies tend to strengthen against it. Gold edged higher on a weaker dollar and the Fed keeping rates steady, while oil fell following Saudi Arabia’s push for a naval coalition and OPEC+’s expected September supply hike.
