Number of Airport Passengers Down 32.56% Annually YTD by June 2026 TO 2,023,966 Passengers

The cumulative activity at Rafic Hariri International Airport declined by 32.56% year on year to 2,023,966 travelers by June 2026, reflecting the impact of the renewed conflict between Israel and Hezbollah, which disrupted travel demand and airline activity despite the ceasefire announced in mid-April. Total arrivals reached 1,007,228, down by 37.04% year on year, while departures fell by 27.44% to 1,016,251. Meanwhile, transit passengers increased by 115.12% year on year to 1,906, albeit from a low base.

Airport activity contracted in June 2026, with total passengers falling by 25.24% year on year to 441,494 travelers. Total arrivals, departures and transit declined by 24.87%, 25.75% and 23.99% respectively reaching 254,103, 187,147 and 244 travelers.

On a monthly basis, airport activity rebounded, with total passengers increasing by 29.94% compared to May 2026. The improvement was driven by the gradual resumption of flight operations and improved travel conditions following the easing of hostilities, as well as the start of the summer season which boosted demand and activity. Consequently, arrivals rose by 36.01%, departures increased by 22.54%, and transit passengers grew by 10.41%.
