Real Estate Sector Holds Back the Lebanese Bourse Today

The Lebanese Bourse witnessed a slight dip on Wednesday, mainly on the back of real estate shares closing in the red. BLOM Stock Index (BSI) went down by 0.05% to 1,186.66 points, narrowing its year-to-date gains to 1.40%. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares classes “A” and “B” lost 0.85% and 1.03% to close the session at $11.64 and $11.56, respectively. In the banking sector, GDR shares of Bank Audi and BLOM Bank gained 0.81% and 0.20% to respective quotes of $6.25 and $9.97. In addition, BLOM Bank listed shares and Byblos Bank preferred shares 2009 increased by 0.52% and 0.20% to settle at $9.70 and $100.80, respectively. In contrast, BLOM Bank preferred shares 2011 dropped by 0.98% to $10.10, while the common shares of Byblos Bank and Bank Audi traded with no change in price.
