Cumulative Construction Permits Fell Yearly by 23.10% to 2,011 by April 2026
Lebanon saw a cumulative 23.10% year-on-year (YoY) decline in construction permits to 2,011 by April 2026. This decrease is largely reflecting the disruption and uncertainty following the outbreak of the Israel-Hezbollah conflict on February 28, 2026, which weighed on investor confidence and delayed new construction activity.
Moreover, construction activity decreased across most governorates except for Beirut, and Mount Lebanon, where activity rebounded.

Similarly, the Cumulative Construction Area Authorized by Permits (CAP) fell by 6.66% to 2,180,260 square meters (sqm) by April 2026.
