High Trading Activity Depicted on the Lebanese Bourse

The Lebanese Bourse steadied today despite higher levels of trading activity. In this context, 507,000 shares were traded worth $4.20M, compared to 334,657 shares valued at $1.91M yesterday. The BLOM Stock Index (BSI) inched up by 0.01% to 1,185.58 points, broadening its year-to-date gains to 1.31%. In the banking sector, Byblos Bank preferred 2008 and BLOM Bank preferred 2011 shares gained 1.19% and 0.10% to $101.70 and $10.11, respectively. Worth mentioning that 88,505 of BLOM Bank preferred 2011 shares were cross-traded. In contrast, Byblos Bank listed shares and its preferred 2009 shares lost 1.23% and 0.30% to close the session at $1.60 and $100.10. Furthermore, Bank Audi listed shares and BLC preferred class “C” shares declined by respective amounts of 0.16% and 0.99% to $6.11 and $100.00. Moreover, BLOM Bank common and GDR shares traded with no change in price. In the real estate sector, Solidere class “A” shares increased by 1.24% to settle at $11.43 while the class “B” shares lost 0.09% to $11.44.
