Lebanese Eurobonds Drops as Political and Security Uncertainty Blurs Recovery Prospects

The BLOM Bond Index (BBI), which tracks Lebanese government Eurobonds (excluding coupon payments), declined by 6.05% over the course of the week ending October 8th, 2026, closing at 28.52 points, compared to 30.36 points a week earlier. The weekly retreat revealed renewed investor attention amid continued unstable domestic political situation, regional security developments and low chances of sovereign debt restructuring shortly. However, BBI increased significantly by 18.42%YTD. As bond prices decrease, yields rise and so the weighted yield rose by 401 basis points to 65.89%.
