The Number of Real Estate Transactions Rose by September 2017

Data from the Lebanese Cadastre Registry indicated that the number of real estate (R.E) transactions rose by 13.66% year-on-year (y-o-y) to reach 67,805 transactions by September 2017.

Accordingly, the total value of these real estate transactions climbed by a yearly 17.60% to stand at $7.24B, when compared to the same period last year. Therefore, the average value per transaction rose from 3.46% y-o-y to $106,845 by September 2017.

The foreigners’ share in the total number of real estate transactions remained almost unchanged and stood at 1.55% by September 2017 compared to 1.57% in the same period last year.

However, the value of foreign RE transactions executed by foreigners dropped by a yearly 9.83% to $309.91M in the first nine months of the year.

As for the regional breakdown, Beirut grasped the largest share of total real estate transactions’ value, with a share of 27.82% by September 2017, followed by Metn and Baabda with shares of 19.06% and 11.77%, respectively.

However, the regional breakdown in terms of number of real estate transactions places Akkar first with a stake of 25.80% followed by respective shares of 15.31% and 9.46% for the North and the Metn regions.
