Port of Beirut: Cumulative Total Container Activity Rose 18.04% YoY by October 2025 to 756,457 TEU
Cumulative container activity at the Port of Beirut rose by 18.04% year-over-year (YoY) to 756,457 TEU by October 2025. Cumulative container activity, referring to cargo loaded onto or unloaded from ships at the port, saw an increase of 23.13% YoY to 577,883 TEU. However, cumulative transshipment activity, which involves cargo transferred from one ship to another at an intermediate port, increased by 4.11% YoY to 178,574 TEU.
On a monthly basis the total activity increased by 42.13% to 92,980 TEU compared to October 2024, mainly driven by the end of war escalation, given that in October 2024 Lebanon was in a middle of an aggressive war which led to higher insurance and shipping premiums and safety concerns, thus reduced shipments to Port of Beirut.
Detailed breakdowns of these changes and additional statistics regarding the activity of the shipping companies CMA CGM and MSC are provided below.
