US Treasury Yields Decrease Amid Diplomatic Efforts to Ease Geo-Political Tensions

The BLOM Bond Index (BBI), which tracks Lebanese government Eurobonds (excluding coupon payments), rose by 2.08% over the course of the week ending August 13th, 2026, closing at 29.32 points, driven by geo-political situation in the region. Also, BBI improved noticeably by 21.74% YTD. And as bond prices increases, yields decrease and so the weighted yield declined by 100 basis points to 60.51%.
On the political front, the Lebanese Parliament issued the laws related to the death penalty and general amnesty law after two days of debates and parliament meetings.
