Cumulative container activity at the Port of Beirut rose by 13.41% year-over-year (YoY) to 582,759 TEU by August 2025. Cumulative container activity, referring to cargo loaded onto or unloaded from ships at the port saw an increase of 22.71% YoY to 450,830 TEU. On a monthly basis the total activity increased by 13.74% to 79,173 TEU, largely driven by the summer season, which typically sees a surge in expatriates returning to Lebanon, accompanied by higher spending and stronger demand across various sectors.
