Lebanon Ranks 74th on the Global Innovation Index 2015

The Global Innovation Index (GII), co-published by Cornell University, INSEAD, and the World Intellectual Property Organization, draws an innovation efficiency ratio for each country by assessing the innovation input and the innovation output. This evaluation of innovation therefore gives direction to policies aimed at promoting long-term output growth, improved productivity and job growth.

According to the 2015 edition of the GII, Lebanon ranked 74th out of 141 countries worldwide and ranked 6th amongst 14 Arab countries considered in the index. Lebanon was outperformed by Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. However, with a score of 33.8 over 100 Lebanon out-scored Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Kuwait, Egypt, Algeria, Yemen and Sudan.
