The Beirut Stock Exchange Had a Poor Showing on Tuesday

The Lebanese Bourse fell back to a bearish tone today, as the BLOM Stock Index (BSI) erased some of yesterday’s gains, and declined by 0.39% to 1,109.72. In the banking sector, Bank Audi listed shares and GDRs, in addition to BLOM Bank listed shares, lost 0.84%, 0.67% and 0.53% to respectively settle at $5.90, $5.93 and $9.40. In contrast, Bank of Beirut preferred shares class “E” and Bank Audi preferred shares class “H” increased by 2.13% and 0.20% to $26.35 and $101.50, respectively. Meanwhile, Byblos Bank listed shares and BLOM Bank GDRs traded with no change in price. In the real estate sector, Solidere shares class “A” decreased by 1.04% to close at $8.54, while Solidere class “B” shares gained 0.83% to close at $8.49. In the industrial sector, Holcim shares decreased by 2.36% to settle at $14.50.
