The BLOM Stock Index (BSI) compiled by BLOMInvest Bank on a daily basis increased weekly by 1.01% to reach 1,646.48 on July 19th, 2024 up from 1,629.95 on July 12th, 2024. Similarly, the market capitalization on the Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE) rose weekly from $16.71B to $16.87B. The average volume and value of trades also totaled 17,617 shares worth $1,178,374 compared to 84,079 shares worth $1,924,532 last week.

On the Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE), the real estate sector grasped the lion’s share of the BSE’s trading value with a stake of 99.87%, while the banking sector grasped the remaining 0.02%. The most noteworthy trades throughout the mentioned period included:

  • Solidere (A) shares rose by 3.15% to settle at $72.1 / share
  • Solidere (B) shares declined by 1.2% to settle at $70.15 / share
  • Audi shares increased by 0.65% to settle at $1.55 / share

As for the BLOM Preferred Shares Index (BPSI), remained 31.8 by July 19, 2024.

The Arab stock market expanded this week as S&P Pan Arab and MSCI rose respectively by 2.28% and 0.02% to stand at 966.75 and 1,111.46 points by the end of this week. Moreover, the bourse of Saudi Arabia, UAE and Tunisia rose respectively by 3.43%, 2.42%, and 1.37% while bourse of Qatar contracted by 1.25% by July 19th, 2024.

The US market contracted this week as S&P 500 and NASDAQ fell respectively by 0.72% and 2.25% to stand at 5,544.59 and 17,871.22 points by July 19th, 2024, compared to the previous week.

Europe’s stock markets contracted this week as DAX Germany, CAC 40 France and FTSE 100 Britain fell respectively by 1.97%, 1.54% and 0.78% compared to the previous week to reach 18,230.28, 7,562.99 and 8,181.53 points by July 19th, 2024. Furthermore, NIKKEI Japan declined by 2.74% to reach 40,063.79 points by July 19th, 2024 compared to the previous week.
