BDL’s Foreign Reserve Assets Stand at $11.53B after an $86.05M Increase in the Last Two Weeks of July 2026

According to Banque du Liban’s (BDL) balance sheet, the Central Bank’s total assets decreased by 0.94% Year-on-Year (YoY), reaching $93.3B by the end of July 2026.

Furthermore, the gold account, representing 40.15% of BDL’s total assets, increased by 23% yearly to reach $37.445B by the end of July 2026. In addition, BDL foreign reserve assets, consisting of 12.36% of total assets rose by 0.42% YoY and stood at $11.53B the end of July 2026. Moreover, foreign reserve assets increased by $86.05M in the last two weeks of July 2026.

On the liabilities front, financial sector deposits, representing 86.21% of BDL’s total liabilities, decreased by 4.82% annually and reached $80.4B by the end of July 2026 compared to last year, of which more than 99% are denominated in dollars. Moreover, public sector deposits, representing 10.86% of BDL’s total liabilities, surged by 33.03% yearly and reached $10.13B by the end of July 2026. Lastly, currency in circulation outside of BDL, consisting of 0.68% of BDL’s total liabilities, fell by 25.46% annually to reach $632.553M by the end of July 2026.
