At 11:30 Beirut time, the Euro was quoted at $/€ 1.1287, the equivalent of €/LBP 1,701.52, appreciating against the US Dollar by 0.10% from Thursday’s close.
The Euro was bullish versus the Dollar today despite U.S. weekly jobless claims falling by 6,000 from the previous week’s level and signaling a robust labor market.
Locally, the Lebanese Pound appreciated versus the Dollar from LP/$ 1,508-1,512 with a mid-price of LP/$ 1,510 to LP/$ 1,507-1,511 with a mid-price of LP/$ 1,509.
Compared to the pool of currencies of Lebanon’s major trading partners, the purchasing power of the Lebanese pound declined as reflected by the NEER, published by BLOMINVEST, which dropped by 0.14% to 167.07 today.
