At 15:30 Beirut time, the Euro was quoted at $/€ 1.1135, the equivalent of €/LBP 1,678.60 appreciating against the US Dollar by 0.23% from Thursday’s close.
Following the positive statement from Draghi regarding the Eurozone economy and the Fed’s meeting edging closer, the Euro gained versus the Dollar today.
Locally, the Lebanese Pound depreciated versus Dollar from LP/$ 1,509-1,513 with a mid-price of LP/$ 1,511 to LP/$ 1,5010-1,514 with a mid-price of LP/$ 1,512.
Compared to the pool of currencies of Lebanon’s major trading partners, the purchasing power of the Lebanese pound remained relatively steady as reflected by the NEER, published by BLOMINVEST, which ticked up by 0.05% to 166.66 today.
