Port of Beirut’s Revenues Down by 3.20 % YOY by June 2017

The Port of Beirut’s revenues (PoB) decreased in the first half of 2017 by 3.20% on an annual basis to $116.03M.

Total container activity including transshipment (TEU+TS) increased by a yearly rate of 8.58% to 627,658 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) by June 2017.

In details, container activity alone rose by 2.75% year-on-year to 429,074 TEU while the transshipment activity grew by 23.73% year-on-year to 198,580 TEU.

MSC, one of the two major shipping/logistic firms operating at the port, experienced a rise on an annual basis in transshipment activity by 17.69% to 102,142 TEU, while the transshipment activity of CMA CGM grew by 15.41% to 74,411 TEU by June 2017.
