Value of Cleared Checks Declined by 1.2% in January 2017

In January 2017, the total value of cleared checks slid by a yearly 1.2% to reach $5.71B. In details, the value of checks denominated in Lebanese Pounds increased by 1.4% y-o-y to $1.73B, compared to $1.71B in January 2016. As for checks denominated in foreign currency, they decreased from $4.07B in January 2016 to $3.97B during the same period, this year.  Moreover, returned checks’ value fell by 14.2% y-o-y to reach $109M
