Solidere Prices Pushed BBI Up to 1,943.131 Points

The BLOM Stock Index (BSI) compiled by BLOMInvest Bank on a daily basis jumped weekly by 10.50% to reach 1,943.131 on December 22, 2023 up from 1,758.449 on December 15, 2023. Meanwhile, the market capitalization on the Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE) increased weekly from $18.02B to $19,91B. The average volume and value of trades also totaled 35,785 shares worth $2,199,351 compared to 6,187 worth $355,674 last week.

On the Beirut Stock Exchange (BSE), the real estate sector grasped the lion’s share of the BSE’s trading value with a stake of 99.75%, while the banking and industrial sectors grasped respectively 0.24% and 0.32%.  The most noteworthy trades throughout the mentioned period included:

  • Solidere (A) shares jumped by 14.60% to settle at $86.01/ share
  • Solidere (B) shares expanded by 15.44% to settle at $86.35/ share
  • HOLCIM shares increased by 3.30% to settle at $59.50/share

As for the BLOM Preferred Shares Index (BPSI), it remained constant at 39.62 by December 22, 2023.

The Arab stock market fluctuated this week as S&P Pan Arab increased by 0.91% to stand at 947.72 while MSCI declined by 0.34% to reach 997.46 points by the end of this week. Moreover, the bourse of Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia expanded respectively by 3.60% 0.81%, and 0.68% while bourse of Egypt and Tunisia contracted respectively by 1.69% and 0.66% by December 22, 2023.

In the US, S&P 500 and NASDAQ expanded respectively by 0.58% and 1.01% to stand at 4,746.75 and 14,963.87 points by December 22, 2023 compared to the previous week.

As for Europe’s stock market, DAX Germany and CAC 40 declined, respectively, by 0.47%, 0.36% to stand at 16,673.07 and 7,569.62 points by December 22, 2023. In contrast, NIKKEI and FTSE 100 expanded respectively by 0.60% and 1.64% by the end of the week to stand at 33,169.05 points and 7,700.29 points by December 22.
