Beirut’s International Airport welcomed 5.04 million (M) passengers in the first 7 months of 2019 compared to 4.84M passengers during the same period last year.
The breakdown of the airport’s statistics revealed that total arrivals added 2.26% year-on-year (YOY) to hit 2.59M by July 2019. By the same token, the number of departing passengers climbed by a yearly 3.98% to reach 2.4M over the same period. Meanwhile, transit passengers increased from 2,634 by July2018 to 52,937 passengers by July 2019 and this is again attributed to the update in the airport’s statistical calculation methods of this parameter.
On a monthly basis, the month of July this year witnessed a 3.81%YOY growth in the number of airport passengers which touched 1.06M passengers during the month, owing it to upticks in arrivals and departures. The former added 1.86% YOY to 574,974 passengers while the latter registered a yearly uptick of 4.8% to 479,391 travelers.
